Thermex Finned Heat Exchangers

Finned Tube Heat Exchangers are the latest addition to the range of high performance cooling products available from Thermex.

Traditionally, a heat exchanger tube stack would feature a number of tubes bundled together within a cylinder, with a few evenly spaced baffle plates. The difference with the finned tube stacks offered by Thermex is that in addition to this, fin plates are stacked along the length of the tube stack. The amount of fins used (or fin density) can be varied for different fluids, air and performance requirements, but in any case the user will benefit from an extra 400%* of surface area compared with the plain tube design. The clever fin design ensures that all of the fins are evenly spaced apart and that they form part of a rugged construction. *Calculation based on a “standard size” of marine charge air cooler.

Fin Material

Thermex offer both Copper and Aluminium fins which are selected based on the operating environment.

Fin Diameter

Thermex also offers 7 different fin diameter, creating an extensive range to meet the demands of most applications.
